One quick question, if playing your computer is "NOT" your most ideal activity, then why do you keep planning these LAN parties? Why don't you plan a hike, or an ATV ride, or anything other than computer games? It doesn't make any sense to me.
ReplyDeleteI've actually gone hiking up the canyon several times this year already. I would like to go on an overnight hike, but there is still too much snow... I've tried to even get up to the trailheads... not possible yet.
ReplyDeleteAs for an ATV ride, I have to fix my four-wheeler first. I also don't have any way to haul it. I don't feel like I can demand that my brother-in-law takes me four-wheeling when ever I want, since I don't have a trailer.
How about some different games? i.e. 1947 or Americans army? I like the first person shooters w/team options...but Halo and Farcry gets old after 4 hours.
ReplyDeleteHow about May 12th. My parents are going to be in town on the 5th for my graduation.
ReplyDeleteAlso I like the idea about different games. AA would be fun
The 12th is no good for me. I will be gone on a family weekend get together at Bear Lake.
ReplyDeleteSchool is almost over so any weekend works for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree...it's time for a change. I do think that the team games are the most fun. I've tried installing AA before and remember having issues, but I haven't tried it in a while. It would definately be worth trying.
I'll go ahead and get 1942 (my new hard drive came today so I've got lot's of space to install games now). Any other suggestions?
I don't like the idea of America's Army... 1942 or BF2 would be funner. I suggest not changing the date of the party for one person... If it is more than one I say you consider doing it. But just for one person when there are several others that are willing and ready on that day would be rediculous. Ken I don't think you can do it any other weekend in may anyhow... Aren't you going to california the weekend after the 12th? Maybe like the 19th? I think you will be gone that day. Maybe the 25th, i'm sure you won't be here that day. It sounds like the only day that will work for the host in May is the 5th... Sorry if you can't make it Bob. Lets take a running tally. Who can make it on the 5th? I can. I don't want to exclude anyone but lets just see who can and can't make it. Me and Tyler are in. Thats 2.
ReplyDeleteP.s. Amercias army just doesn't seem like a shooter we would enjoy. To many gameplay issues to have a blast. I say BF2 would be the best of the best game of the team shooters out there. Anyways hope to see everyone on the 5th.
I'm going to take some time and do a personal play through of AA just to see if I am jumping to conclusions... but what I have played of it before I am just not excited about playing it with everyone at are parties, but I will give it a fair chance first!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I agree with Tyrell. May 5th is the only time that I can do it in May. I will be gone every other weekend in May. The weekend of the 12th I'll be over at Bear Lake and the weekend of the 19th I am leaving for California and I won't be back until the 30th. It is the 5th, or wait until June, or throw a party without me. :(
ReplyDeleteHey guys... there has been one problem I've run across with AA, that is everyone will have to complete training before we can play. I guess it doesn't take that long, but do we want to take the time to do it?
ReplyDeleteActually. That's a pretty good point. That'll take about 30-40 minutes or so...I finished Basic last night. I would have like to try AA but is looking like it wouldn't be worth it. I'm going to get Battlefield: Vietnam to see if it would be any fun. Do you guys have any other suggestions?
ReplyDeleteAren't there any games that don't portray killing and violence as fun and entertaining?
ReplyDeletehmmm...maybe that is why I never get invited to these...
Sure there are a few games that don't do that. Say Animal Crossing or the Harvest Moon series. Maybe a sports game or two. Other than that I think most games are about war or something of that sort. Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon aren't multiplayer so that isn't any help to a multiplayer party.
ReplyDeleteI was only asking because the post said "tentatively" so I was trying to sugest another date because I can not make that one. But by no means if it is in confilct please go ahead with it. It will be fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the support Bob... Sorry you won't be able to join us!
